Ardo Ran Varres is an Estonian composer

Profile

Ardo Ran Varres is an Estonian composer whose work bridges concert music, electroacoustic composition, sound art, and music for theatre and film. Known for his refined sense of dramaturgy and textural detail, Varres composes music that moves fluidly between lyricism and experimental sound worlds.

His works are valued for tonal and timbral variety, and a willingness to combine tradition (folk/runic material, national-music, buddhism references) with modern compositional techniques. In music theatre, his many divergent paths of study and ways of listening converge.
